Hi all! I’m Marie, and I’m a full-time mom with 3 kids. I live in a gorgeous house in the suburbs, and the well being of my little family is my priority. I try to make sure they eat healthy food by only cooking organic and using as little fat as possible in my cooking, I try to make sure all of us exercise and keep fit, and I try to make sure my husband and kids are healthy all the time by ensuring that the water they consume is clean and pure.
Because of this, I have actively scouted around the Internet and brick-and-mortar stores to find the best possible water filters for my home. Although the area that I live in is really gorgeous, especially in spring, with all the lovely flowers blooming, the quality of the water leaves much to be desired. So I have to filter all our water to ensure that we don’t ingest toxic material.
What Do I Use and Why?
I use a faucet-mount water filter for my kitchen sink, as well as a whole-house water filtration system for all the water that runs through the pipes of my house. I believe this double water filtering system will definitely keep unwanted gunk at bay, because water coming into my house is filtered, and our drinking water is filtered once again at the kitchen sink for ultimate protection.
This system also helps our faucet water filter last longer because most of the larger particles had been already filtered out by our trusty whole house water filter! We get clean, pure water for drinking as well as for washing, showering and cleaning.
In this blog I’ve written down some of the things I’ve discovered along the way. I pen down how I decided on my water filter system, and I include water filter reviews of the best water filters around for your convenience. Besides that, I’ve included some tips that might help you understand how water filtration functions to ensure that you know what you need to know. Do enjoy!
How to Choose the Best Water Filter System
The first thing I think you need to decide is what kind of water filtration system you should get, be it a faucet-mounted type, undersink type, a whole-house water filtration system or something else. Then, shop around and look for water filters of that type that fall within your budget. I’ve included some water filter reviews on my website which might help you get started with your search.
Check the specifications of the water filter you wish to buy. Check:
a) how long you can use it before having to replace the filter
b) how fine the filtration system is (down to how many microns)
c) what it filters out and what it doesn’t
d) how much the filters cost
e) whether installation is easy
f) whether it’s accredited by the local municipal council or a national water council
g) whether it’s ISO accredited
h) reviews online for ease-of-use and durability
Once you’ve checked everything and find it suited to your liking, go ahead and plonk down money for a great water filter system!
On my website, I’ve also written a few articles to hopefully enlighten you on the finer points of water filtration.

Who would have guessed that simply learning about the fluoride and chlorine content in water could have brought about so much? And yet there is so much more lurking in the water than we know. Rust, sediment, dangerous disease-causing cysts, minute rocks, potassium, perchlorate, small rocks and other particles could be potentially disastrous to our health.
Really, ultimately everybody could use a water filter in their home. Thank you for letting me share all I know with you. I hope I’ve helped you get started on your very own water filter journey!
