PUR Water Filters Category:

I think this PUR 3-Stage Vertical Faucet Mount is the best water filter of the pack because I’ve been using this one at home, attached to my kitchen faucet for a few years. My kids and my husband like the taste of the water after it’s filtered and I’m hoping that it will get them to drink more water instead of soda and coffee.

PUR 3-Stage Vertical Faucet Mount

There are 3 colors for you to choose from, namely black, white and blue so I bought the black one to match my entire kitchen finishing. It looks very stylish and is so easy to install and use. I can adjust it for filtered water and normal water for just washing dishes so as not to wear out the filter unduly.

Affordable, Clean Water
The PUR 3-Stage Vertical Faucet Mount is not very expensive to use, and is very cheap when compared to buying bottles and bottles of drinking water. The price of a new filter is approximately half of the faucet mount itself, but a filter lasts about 2 to 3 months, possibly 4 with careful usage depending where you are. I used it about 3 months before I had to replace it.

It is a really good filter because it filters away sediment and pollutants like lead, cryptosporidium, and giardia cysts without filtering away mineral fluorine, which is beneficial to our health. Water is clear after filtering, and not cloudy.

However, I found it slightly fiddly to change from filtered to unfiltered water because the faucet mount will still be in the way when I wash dishes. I also heard that over time, hairline cracks in the mount can occur which cause water to escape in spurts and little streams.

Aside from these little things, I find this PUR 3-Stage Vertical Faucet Mount the best to use in my kitchen and don’t hesitate to recommend it for you as well! :)

I have come across this variety of water filters only occasionally, so I suppose they’re not really what most households are looking for in terms of water filters. However, I feel compelled to review this PUR Ultimate Pitcher, because the PUR faucet mount that I’m using is really very good, I have confidence in this brand, and because this water filter comes in really handy when you’re outdoors, like when you’re camping, at the beach, or at a picnic.

PUR Pitcher

This PUR Ultimate Pitcher comes with two filters, each able to filter 40 gallons of water, so you can be assured that you’re buying a very affordable water filtering solution. It’s maximum capacity at one time is 10 cups of water, a very respectable amount if you’re looking for an outdoorsy solution, but not very convenient if you’re looking for a water filter at home.

How does it work?
It uses gravity to filter water, so it’s not as fast as you might like, but it’s not very slow either. I found it worked quite respectably when we took it with us on a camping trip in the woods near our house, and we never ran out of clean water to drink.

Like it’s faucet-mounted cousin (mounted in my kitchen! :) ), it filters a lot of gunk, like trihalomethanes (TTHMs) which are a byproduct of chlorination, lead, chorine, mercury, virtually all cryptosporidium and giardia, resulting in very clean, potable water.

If you’re looking for a portable water filter alternative that won’t break the bank, I really feel this PUR Ultimate Pitcher would do the trick for you. :)
